Hip Physical Therapy

Mobile PT Tailored for Queens and Neighboring Communities

Your hip is a large ball-and-socket joint, designed to support your body’s weight and allow for smooth, stable movement. Hip pain can originate from the hip joint itself or the surrounding muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other supporting structures. Pain from the joint is typically felt on the inside of the hip or in the groin, while issues with surrounding structures often cause discomfort on the outside of the hip or upper thigh. In some cases, hip pain may be referred pain, originating from conditions in other parts of the body.

Common Conditions We Treat:

  • Hip Impingement (FAI - Femoroacetabular Impingement) – Abnormal bone growth causing stiffness and pinching pain

  • Hip Osteoarthritis – Wear-and-tear of cartilage leading to joint pain and stiffness

  • Hip Bursitis – Inflammation of the bursa causing pain on the outer hip

  • Labral Tears – Damage to the cartilage that stabilizes the hip joint

  • Piriformis Syndrome – Compression of the sciatic nerve leading to buttock and leg pain

  • Post-Surgical & Joint Replacement Rehabilitation – Recovery after hip surgeries or total hip replacements

Our Approach to Hip Pain Relief: We focus on restoring joint mobility, muscle balance, and movement mechanics to alleviate pain and improve function. Our treatments may include:

  • Manual Therapy – Hands-on techniques to improve hip mobility and reduce muscle tightness

  • Hip Stabilization & Strength Training – Strengthening the glutes, core, and hip muscles for better support and function

  • Gait & Balance Training – Improving walking mechanics and stability to reduce strain

  • Neuromuscular Re-education – Optimizing movement patterns for pain-free mobility

  • What should you expect at your first physical therapy visit?
During your first visit, your therapist will discuss your symptoms, injury, health history, and recovery goals. A thorough evaluation will assess posture, muscle strength, flexibility, joint mobility, and soft tissue health. Based on the results, your therapist will create a personalized treatment plan and at-home exercise program, guiding you through each exercise to ensure proper technique.
  • What do I need to wear for my initial appointment?
Wear comfy, loose-fitting clothes and a pair of rubber-soled sneakers—something that lets you move around easily and comfortably!
  • Should I bring any X-rays and MRI reports with me?
Yes! Please bring any X-rays, MRI reports, or medical records to your first visit for a more accurate evaluation. Also, bring your therapy prescription, if you have one, and be ready to complete some basic paperwork.
